SENIOR POLYMER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - POLYPROPYLENE / SUPERABSORBERS (m/w/d)


For Lummus Novolen Technology GmbH in Mannheim/ Germany we are looking for an experienced Senior Polymer Development Specialist - Polypropylene / Superabsorbers (m/f/d) to join our Research & Development team.

Key Responsibilities:

Initiation and management of polymer product development projects according to the company's project management process
Documentation and presentation of work results
Monitoring of the IP environment and technical publications in the field, collaboration with the patent department and contribution to the company's IP portfolio
Survey of the polypropylene and other polymers markets worldwide and representation of Novolen at conferences and fairs
Provision of technical support and services to our customers worldwide in the field of product development and application
Interaction with the technology licensing business in bidding and proposal processes
Collaboration with other departments in the organization (i.e. laboratory, Technology Management, Catalyst R&D and Catalyst sales)


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

Master's degree in Chemistry or Engineering or comparable qualification with strong background in Polymer Science / Polymer processing, preferable in the field of Polypropylene and/or Superabsorbent Polymers
Advanced knowledge in polymer materials and / or polymer applications demonstrated by at least 3 years professional experience in the industry or doctoral degree is required
Ability to lead projects and train other professionals
Skills in using standard software and new communication media
Fluent business English skills, further language skills, especially German, are advantageous
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to prepare appealing presentations and technical articles
Strong customer focus, understanding of the needs of clients
Structured, self-motivated and solution-oriented work style, willingness to take over responsibility
Interpersonal and multicultural skills, ability to work in teams
Willingness to travel worldwide
