Location: Munich, Germany. This role is based in Munich with visa support for relocation where applicable.

Your Role

As a Tax Manager, you will be a key financial partner to our Finance and overall leadership team, overseeing all domestic and international tax matters. You will provide strategic and practical tax advice to support business decisions and ensure tax compliance. Responsibilities include managing daily tax operations across all functions, ensuring adherence to regulations, and developing scalable tax processes. This role reports directly to the CFO.

Your Responsibilities

  • Preparation of VAT returns and annual VAT declarations for Germany and selected foreign permanent establishments, including VAT treatment of (inter)national transactions.
  • Preparation of corporate income tax returns and other tax-related matters (as applicable) in collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Coordination of strategic and operational tax matters and group-wide projects (e.g., introduction of a tax compliance management system, transfer pricing documentation).
  • Point of contact for internal departments, external tax advisors, and tax authorities.
  • Contribution to the transition to SAP S/4HANA with regard to tax-relevant topics.
  • Support in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS.
  • Over time, build up and lead the tax function and potentially head the Tax team.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • Qualification as a certified tax specialist (Steuerfachwirt), tax advisor (Steuerberater), or a comparable recognized credential in Germany.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including time at a leading international tax advisory firm in Germany, ideally with in-house tax expertise at a scale-up or international corporation operating in the German market.
  • Solid knowledge of (inter)national tax law, particularly VAT.
  • Independent, solution-oriented working style with strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and SAP is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
