About The Team

The Group Tax Team handles all tax matters, including corporate tax, trade tax, VAT across the Unzer Groupcomprising 15 entities in 4 countries. We also manage cross-border intercompany transfer pricing and related tax implications. This key tax role will report directly to the CFO.

What your work will look like:

• Take responsibility for the groups tax position in Germany and across Europe
• Build and manage the Tax team, prioritizing projects and ensuring accurate tax liabilities
• Own and improve the intercompany charging model
• Engage proactively with external tax stakeholders in DEU, LUX, DKK, AUT, ensuring compliance and identifying value opportunities
• Lead tax projects independently
• Coordinate with external tax advisors
• Implement modern processes and tools within the tax organization to support growth

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Qualified tax professional passionate about defining tax processes and building teams
• Experience in a scale-up company as a key tax figure, preferably in Fintech or regulated sectors, and with European taxation expertise
• Ability to manage relationships with tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions, fluent in English and German
• Knowledge of IFRS, HGB, and adaptability to local jurisdictions
• Solution-oriented with a proactive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
• Resilient, focused on larger goals despite high workload

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in a PE-controlled environment
• Exposure to regulators and understanding their operation
• M&A experience
