Job Description
This project entails a multi-year initiative to modernize a global media network's broadcast and media infrastructure. The objective is to enhance operational efficiency, increase scalability, and enable innovative content creation and delivery.
This involves transitioning from legacy baseband to a software-defined, IP-based architecture (SMPTE ST2110) and implementing advanced cloud-based live production workflows. The program also aims to enable remote production and integrate AI-driven tools, all executed through a phased approach with close collaboration with client and partner teams.
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team, driving a major media technology transformation project. This role requires deep expertise in broadcast IP networking (SMPTE ST2110) and hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud-based live production workflows . You will provide expert guidance, evaluate solutions, and support the build-out of a modern, scalable, and resilient broadcast infrastructure.
Must have:
- Extensive, proven experience in designing and implementing broadcast systems based on SMPTE ST2110 , including uncompressed video, audio, and data over IP.
- Deep understanding of IP networking in broadcast environments, including multicast, PTP, and QoS.
- Significant experience with cloud-based live production solutions across public, private, or hybrid platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate solutions from diverse broadcast technology vendors (e.g., Grass Valley AMPP, Evertz Dreamcatcher, SDI/SMPTE-2110 gateways).
- Strong client-facing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
- Experience on large-scale technology transformation programs in media or broadcast.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with hybrid cloud media solutions or virtualized production environments.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools in media workflows or advanced IP networking protocols (e.g., IGMP, PIM).
- Direct experience enabling remote production capabilities across dispersed locations.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and planning for the transition from traditional baseband to a software-defined, IP-native broadcast architecture.
- Serve as the primary SME on SMPTE ST2110 and IP-based broadcast infrastructure , ensuring all solutions meet industry standards (SMPTE ST2110, AMWA NMOS, JT-NM).
- Design and implement cloud-based live production workflows , integrating them with existing and new on-premises systems.
- Evaluate current broadcast and media infrastructure (SDI, IP, cloud) to identify gaps and develop migration strategies.
- Collaborate closely with technical and client teams to ensure successful execution and technical alignment.
- Assess technical proposals from vendors , ensuring solutions are designed for scalability, resilience, and optimal performance.
