Associate Director EMEA A&D, Automotive, Capital Goods, Investment Holdings team
The Auto, Aerospace & Defense (A&D), Capital Goods, and Investment Holdings team consists of approximately 20 analysts located across key European cities including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, and Stockholm. As part of this dynamic group, you will manage a portfolio of about 15 issuers primarily from the capital goods, aerospace & defense, and automotive sectors, focusing on companies based in Germany. Grade Level: 12.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive corporate credit analysis to evaluate the creditworthiness of corporate entities and infrastructure projects, and oversee the ongoing surveillance of a portfolio of approximately 15 credits using S&P Global Ratings methodology.
- Collaborate proactively with senior management, finance and treasury teams, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze relevant information and establish strong working relationships.
- Prepare and present detailed rating recommendations to rating committees, ensuring precision and timeliness.
- Publish thorough credit analyses and insightful sector commentaries that enhance transparency and communication within the debt markets.
- Engage actively with investors and market participants to foster understanding and support informed decision making.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Candidates reaching the final stage must attend at least one in-person interview at the nearest S&P Global Ratings office; completion is required before an offer can be made.
Qualifications
- A bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of corporate credit analysis experience, preferably with speculativegrade corporates.
- Fluency in spoken and written German and strong written and spoken English; knowledge of additional European languages is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience engaging senior management.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, including financial statement analysis, cashflow modeling, and accounting concepts.
- Experience with legal transaction and debt documentation.
- Ability to maintain high accuracy and attention to detail while meeting strict deadlines.
- Effective teamwork and a strategic approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of the Automotive, Capital Goods, and/or A&D sectors is desirable.
- Willingness to travel within Europe for meetings, sometimes at short notice.
- Proficiency with AI tools, including generative AI for research writing, is an advantage.
